Knox County Calls for Community Grant Applications

Knoxville, Tenn. — Knox County has announced that it is accepting applications for community grants in three categories in 2010: homeless supportive services, arts and cultural services, and general services.

The community grants application process includes a mandatory technical assistance workshop that will be held Monday, February 8th at the Family Justice Center. Any organization that plans to submit an application for grant funding from Knox County MUST send a representative to the training.

This year, three mini-sessions are being provided, one for each category. The schedule is as follows:
· Homeless Supportive Services Grant Applicants: 9:00 a.m.
· Arts & Cultural Grant Applicants: 1:00 p.m.
· General Community Grant Applicants: 3:00 p.m.

At the workshop, the County will provide specific instructions for the application and information on the changes to the application process.

The deadline for submitting the applications is 12:00 noon. Monday, February 22, 2009. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

As part of the County’s ongoing effort to make the government greener, all information about the community grants process is available from the Community Development website at www.knoxcounty.org/communitydevelopment, or by calling 865-215-3980.
